One Morning in late spring

晚春的一個清晨

一個雲淡風輕的早晨 藍空中掛滿棉絮般的白雲

One Morning stretches of cotton like white clouds spread across the blue sky

藍鳥在屋頂上𠵯噪著

A scrub Jay squawked on rooftop                 蜂鳥枝頭上站崗

A hummingbird stood sentinel on tree top

A yellow street sign warning passengers and drivers to pay attention that wild animals do indeed live here along with many human beings young and old.

                                                                                              

 一對母子鹿  立道路當中 媽媽用身體擋住小鹿   

A pair of deer stood on the side of the road

Mother deer stood motionless while keeping the fawn behind her body

晴空下山頭上逐漸乾枯的草地

點綴著一簇簇綠色樹叢

On a clear day you can see the nearby mountains dotted with green groves while grass started to turn golden as summer approached

把鏡頭拉近 山坡上還有些青草尚未轉黃

最後一批春花競相盛放

企圖抓住春天的尾巴

Try to catch the tail end of spring 

flowers bloomed with unabated abandon 

A wasp visited a wild bush (not quite sure the name of the plant?) filled with blooms 

黃蜂深入一株開滿粉色小花的樹叢中

上一季充沛的雨水造成的草長和群花盛放

這一季春天是否無限延伸？

My variegated Geraniums had a super bloom this year 

Wondering aloud whether summer is really around the corner?

“Regal” Pelargonium*, a showy variety of the branch of Geranium family.  They were blooming all at once creating a show at my make shift garden outside the garage (when we’re still lingering from the tail end of the pandemic)

* The blooming flowers resulted from my propagation only a little more than a season earlier from a couple of cuttings given by a friend whose success had impressed all nearby friends.

You’re one of the privileged, having fresh food from garden produce on your table a lot more than most of us balcony try-to-be growers.
