榕樹在台灣是非常常見的高大喬木，成長快速且生性強健，各地常可見數十年甚至百年以上被列為保護的老榕樹，榕樹的枝葉茂盛且蔽蔭面積非常大，所以樹下常成為人們休閒、聊天、聚會、乘涼的場所，是很多人舊時的回憶，流行歌曲「榕樹下」就是以榕樹下的回憶來舒發情感 - from Peter’s Blog
