This holiday season, I’m sending you a song I wrote

A Song of Hope

12/04/2020

In the time of the pandemic this year, with additional human sufferings from wildfires and floods, an endless cacophonies risen from all corners of the land.  Can we indeed see hope and find peace ?”

To begin with something hopeful

I’d like to show you

The sun still rises everyday and the

Moon keeps on it’s journey ‘round the planet earth

in a beautiful manifestation of

  waxing and waning

The world did not simply stop ‘cause human felt hopeless

Trees still provide us with shades and timber

Flowers cheer us with tender love and gratitude

Fruits of the earth fed us and bring joy

The two flowers

are made of gingko leaves

fallen from trees in late autumn

They made nice gift

Just as fresh flowers do

Yet cost nothing except

some handiwork

<=

Fruits of your labor

秋收的果實

In the meanwhile

Animals around us continue to live and thrive

See how they go on their lives the same way everyday

Hope is around the corner, help is on the way !

Yes, the vaccines are available now!

Yet, for those who are not patient enough to wait out time until they are accessible to you in your area and

for your turn to get vaccinated

the worst is not over!

from time.com  NOVEMBER 19, 2020 6:30 AM EST comes the message:

“Vaccines normally take decades to develop and test, but two COVID-19 shots, from Moderna and Pfizer (in partnership with BioNTech), have gone from nonexistent to about 95% effectiveness in 10 months. Public-health officials and governments now have the dual challenge of convincing the public that the vaccines are both safe and scientifically sound, as well as figuring out how to distribute billions of doses. Here’s what we know so far about how that’s going.”

Here are some simple proven preventive ways for all to do while waiting:

  • Wear a mask
  • Keep 6-ft social distance
  • Wash your hands often
  • Stay away from big crowds & gatherings

Additional ideas for

your mental wellness:

  • Talk to friends or go to Zoom to chat often
  • Take an online course or two to occupy idle time
  • When you get bored, create something :  A special dish, a gift item or card, learn a new poem or song, plant something in your garden or write a long letter to yourself, etc.
  • Keep a routine every day whenever you can

You’ll find these simple things quite therapeutic

in time of solitude and quarantine

See birds are observing social distancing rule, too

We have reasons to be hopeful for things other than

the pandemic

People came out in droves to cast their votes in the election of 2020, heeding the precautions they learned from experts, braving the difficulties in the thick of the pandemic

Nobody can foretell what lies ahead

yet  people’s voices are heard, loud and clear!

It’s still in our power to facilitate change for a better tomorrow

Lyric of《A Song of Hope

The world does not stop, my dear

The sun still rises in the morning

The moon goes on it’s journey ‘round the earth

The world does not stop, my dear

Flowers cheer us with tender love and gratitude

Trees give us shades and timber

Fruits of the earth feed us and bring joy

The world does not stop, my dear

Singing birds chirp at dawn, night owls hoot at shadows

Animals in the wild go on to live and thrive

So peaceful the world seems, a picture perfect paradise

The world does not stop, my dear

When wildfires reduced to ashes and disease gone

A glimmer of hope sparked from darkness

With labor of love and spirit humble

The world will not stop, my dear!

Have a very happy and safe
holiday season this year!
